The Cellar wine & pub is located in conservation district area. The renovation challenge is the direct connection between the contemporary architecture and old & classic design.
It encourages exploration, inviting visitors to go through the building along the raised galleries, which have direct or indirect views over the conservation area. The materials palette evokes the language of the wine-making process; for example, slats of recycled wine barrels form the cladding of the public spaces and restaurant flooring, and the stainless steel of the vats is echoed in the bar counter.
Woven bronze wall panels and timber slatted ceilings combine with polished concrete floors to produce a refined, fusion aesthetic.
